“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:29-32
Unwholesome talk is not only foul language, but things we say that do not please God. The church is not here to make people have fun. We have a mission and we have to focus on it. And it requires that we are filled with the Holy Spirit.
Forgiveness is a must. There is no restriction to forgiveness. It is unconditional forgiveness.
Last Sunday we said that the only reason for me to live is to manifest the love of Christ in my life and in the life of others.
We cannot see people through our own eyes. We have to see them through God’s.
If we use our own eyes we see people that do not want God and because of that deserve suffering.
But God’s eyes are full of mercy. If my eyes are filled with His love too, rivers of living waters start to flow out of my life. This way people will be touched and will receive something from God.
However if my thoughts have pleasure in the impure things, I will start seeing people in a different way.
Why is man bad? Because in their lives there is something that enjoys impure things.
If I have impure things in my heart I will reflect it in my actions.
Impure thoughts generate impure attitude.
We cannot get tired of people. We have to see them through God’s eyes. If we don’t we run the risk of being bitter.
We are called to deal with people.
Bitterness in the heart is caused by dealing badly with our feelings. How are our eyes?
We should have shining eyes.
There are people today who serve God, but their eyes do not shine. There is little encouragement or even live. Remember fish! How do we know that the fish is fresh? Because of their shining eyes.
What is your real motivation to serve God?
Are you hurt?
God heals our wounds!
Remember God has always been by our side! He has never forsaken us. If we by any chance made mistakes, it was because we chose not to do God’s will.
I can tell you a story of a young girl who had been rejected by her parents and ended up in an orphanage. There she was raped constantly. One day a good Christian couple adopted her. However, their son started raping her and she eventually got pregnant. Hate that came because of all the indifference and rejection she had been subject to, was in her heart and she planned to make an abortion. Then she heard a voice: do not do it because this child will be a great blessing to mankind. Was she supposed to hear this voice or be rational enough to respond to all the indifference she had had so far with the abortion!
She heard the voice. The boy was born and at the age of 15 accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and became a great preacher of the Gospel.
What does this story tell us? God has a plan to restore our lives!
God can heal our wounds today, even the oldest ones!
Sometimes there is pain in our hearts, but do not sit on your wounds. Do not build your life upon the foundation of ancient problems.
Live in faith and believe God has a plan for your life.
If you are a product of abortion, an unbalanced family, unfair parents, poverty, rejection, indifference or violence, leave the place of suffering and trust God!
God wants to glorify Himself in you.
Do not get stuck to the past.
God will do new things in your life.
He will be glorified in your life.
No matter who you were. No matter what happened to you in the past.
Be like that woman. Trust the voice of the Holy Spirit.
One of the things that grieve the Holy Spirit of God is disbelief.
Who do you listen to? The voice of the world or the Holy Spirit?
Remember Abraham who left his land by faith!
Joshua did not get contaminated by ‘society’. He chose to have faith in the Promise of God.
Disbelief means not listening to God, but to others.
Why does the eagle fly, not the chicken? The eagle flies high because it looks to the highest places. The chicken is always looking at the ground.
Do not look at the wrong things around you all the time, otherwise you will miss the opportunity of having good friends or of being blessed by The Lord. Lift your head!
We deal with people who have weaknesses. We have our own faults and imperfections too. We should not only see their faults or virtues.
Let us value the good things about people.
Let us be balanced and have a rightful judgement.
Let us have a fair opinion about people.
The partial vision and disbelief from 10 spies contaminated a huge number of people!!! A whole nation! The consequence: about 3 million people had to die so that a new generation would go into the promised land.
Let us be balanced!
Joshua and Caleb saw the same things the other 10 spies saw. However, their hearts were filled with faith in the word of God.
I know there are problems out there! I know the giants are huge. But we believe God!
That day when those spies contaminated the whole people of Israel in the desert was so serious to God that He named it The Day of The Provocation.
When we are not fair with our judgements we close the Windows of heavens and the blessings of God are not poured out upon us.
The Holy Spirit is available to restore us! But do not grieve Him!
Do not be skeptic!
God will not do half of the work!
Let God heal your heart!
Enjoy God’s life for you.
Go over your one heart.
The Holy Spirit is giving us an opportunity so that we do not die in the desert.
Let us not have an unbalanced judgement.
“Lord, make me understand what has to be changed in me.
May I be guided by the Holy Spirit.
Open my eyes so that I see what I do not have the ability to see today!”
May God bless you richly and abundantly,
